The Name Says It

For the longest time, since I began taking the craft of creating music seriously, I've avoided giving any thought to being known by any other name, besides Christian McCoy. Well, on Tuesday, November 15th, 2016, while sitting in my weekly Rite to Catholic Initiation for Adults (RCIA) class, I comfortably settled on the new stage name of St. Christian McCoy

As some of us are aware, a saint is primarily an individual that has been recognized by the church as having a certain sense of holiness and likeness to God. Moreover, as I have never been officially recognized by the church as being a saint, I must admit, I have considered myself to possess a certain sense of holiness and likeness to God. This perception of myself, along with the awesome things I'm learning about the Catholic faith and my journey on the path of righteousness, instinctively inspired me to go ahead and embrace the change. Furthermore, look out, world and repent of your sins 'cause St. Christian McCoy is holier than thou!

The End of Gun Violence: The Proposal
By Christian McCoy
As we are aware, gun violence is a major problem in the United States, and as citizens, it is our responsibility to take the necessary steps to solve this problem. If we, the citizens of America are seriously sincere about solving this problem that plagues our communities, it is imperative that we consider this issue with the utmost optimism. Thus, I will propose a valid, comprehensive strategy that will primarily end gun violence in our country.
Reasonably, we all can agree that from a fundamental psychological perspective, those of us who carry guns and desire to carry guns, mainly choose to do so because of their awareness of others who carry guns. Logically, if one is not concerned with being killed by another who possesses a firearm, one is not consciously concerned with owning a firearm.  Moreover, it is undoubtedly the responsibility of governing authorities/law enforcement as practitioners of the rule of law, to unequivocally lead by example in implementing necessary strategies to not only mitigate, but eliminate crime—particularly violence caused by individuals with guns. Thus, the strategy which I will propose here, requires governing authorities/law enforcement to, in fact, lead by example, resulting in an outcome that has been sought after for generations—the end of gun violence within our nation.
My proposal is simple, and it begins with eliminating the need for local law enforcement officers to carry firearms. To my knowledge, it is never the intention of a local law enforcement officer to kill a perpetrator/suspect unless it is absolutely necessary. If that is a fact, it is, therefore, unnecessary for them to be armed with guns, which so often kill individuals "unintentionally". What I propose is that the protocol for local law enforcement officers to routinely carry firearms be discontinued under the conditions which I will elaborately express in the upcoming paragraphs of this proposal.
The next aspect of my proposal—which actually must be implemented first—requires a national search and seizure of firearms. Local and federal law enforcement agencies must collectively conduct a nationwide operation that will confiscate all licensed and unlicensed firearms from every existing household, vehicle and established place of business, etcetera. No individuals submitting unlicensed guns will be apprehended unless the gun is found to be evidence related to a criminal investigation. Additionally, during this operation, as local law enforcement officers will continue carrying their firearms as usual, there must also be a thorough and precise system and/or technological mechanism used to detect any firearms or weapons of mass destruction that may be concealed. Consequently, once the law enforcement agencies have officially announced that the nationwide operation has been fully completed, local law enforcement officers will be required to turn in their duty weapons, and there will be an annual search and seizure of the same kind, thereafter, conducted in the same manner.
As this strategy must be procedural, the initial aspect of the procedure will be to announce and make it clearly known that "local law enforcement officers will no longer be armed with guns, after a nationwide search and seizure operation has been conducted". A specific date for the initiation of the search and seizure operation will be provided and the message will be conveyed via every available media arm, direct mail, email, and even phone calls. Additionally, governing authorities/law enforcement will be obligated to directly alert every household and business owner in their community, district, or jurisdiction. Personally, I expect this initial aspect of my strategy to affect reasonable people to the extent that they will not even entertain the idea of rebelling and trying to find ways to conceal their firearms or any weapons of mass destruction; however, if they are not convinced to comply, I project that the knowledge of the consequences for noncompliance will convince them.
The nation's new gun laws will take effect on the first day of the national search and seizure operation. Thus, because citizens will have been given fair and reasonable warning, individuals will be prosecuted for the seizure of any firearms or weapons of mass destruction that are not directly submitted. Moreover, the illegal possession of firearms or any weapons of mass destruction will be considered a federal violation, and will be punishable by a mandatory minimum sentence of twenty years in prison. Thereafter, any crimes committed with firearms will also be considered a violation of federal law, and will be punishable by a mandatory minimum sentence of fifty years in prison.
This new federal legislation will not only prohibit civilians from possessing firearms and limit the use of guns by local law enforcement officers, but it will reasonably limit the use of firearms in the United States to the absolute necessary option. For example, only certain government personnel will be authorized to carry firearms, the likes of which include officers patrolling our borders, military personnel who are actively serving, and federal agents. Local law enforcement officers will only be armed with the most efficient and effective pepper spray, tasers and other useful weapons that will allow them to simply disable perpetrators/suspects in order to apprehend. Local law enforcement will only be permitted to carry firearms in the line of duty when it is reasonably suspected or determined that an individual or group of people are armed with guns or weapons of mass destruction. Additionally, this new legislation will require an establishment of nationwide rifle harboring locations for the purpose of renting rifles to hunters during hunting season. Finally, to accomplish the goal of enacting this type of legislation, our government will be required to take a huge step for the sake of saving the communities of America—we must discontinue our Constitutional 2nd Amendment right, which allows American citizens to bare arms.
Furthermore, as I, Christian McCoy am a political science and government major who is currently unable to complete the final academic year of my degree program because of financial hardships, I humbly pray that you, the legislative authority of these United States, thoroughly consider my attempt to contribute to this country in a way that I have dreamed of for some time now. This is an attempt to solve a problem that has negatively affected America for generations, and in this day and age, with the exceptionalism that lies within our borders we must act now. Please do not hesitate to explore the concept and possible desired outcome my proposal presents. We can undoubtedly end gun violence in America.

Obamacare? He Doesn’t!
            When I sit back and seriously contemplate the things occurring in this society, all I can do is laugh. However, the things I am referring to are, in no way, a laughing matter. Clearly, our society is plagued with issues that need to be resolved. Clearly, our world leaders are responsible for resolving them. Yet, it is crystal clear that some of them blatantly neglect to do so.
Let us consider our great President Barack Obama, for example. The United States of America has—particularly during the two terms this guy has had the reigns—experienced some of the deadliest of shooting massacres the world has ever seen. Specifically, according to Gawker.com, “five of the deadliest mass shootings in our history” (2012) happened just “1,425 days” (www.gawker.com, 2012) after the President was sworn in.  Since then—for lack of more credible resources—wikipedia.org has recorded approximately 51 additional mass shootings to the current date (2016). As the actual number of mass shootings occurring under Mr. Obama’s administration can be debated, the mere notion of this happening to the extent that it has, is absolutely staggering!
Nevertheless, as the amount of mass shootings under Obama’s watch should be very thoroughly considered, his idiotic, disrespectful and insulting response is what has the greatest impact on American citizens. It is perfectly in order for our President to have a press conference to address the American people, formally expressing how sorry he is for these tragedies. It is perfectly in order for our President to openly express the need for tighter security and even greater surveillance. However, it is unequivocally NOT okay for our highly educated, Harvard Law Alum of a President to “spit in our faces”, suppressing the real reasons why these shooting massacres are even happening.

Just thinking of how this man of such a superior intellect, can hold such a prestigious position of such symbolism, as it pertains to his presidency, can deceive this great country in the way he so often has done, makes me absolutely furious! Each time one of these mass shooting incidents occur, he never once expresses the true cause of these horrible acts! Instead, what this highly intelligent President of these great United States will do is perpetuate this completely unnecessary, irrelevant, illogical discourse about the necessity for stricter gun laws! Dude…kill yourself!

About LABrat…
So yeah…on June 17th I released a new single called “LABrat”, which is a song I’m pretty proud of. My excitement for LABrat is primarily associated with what inspired the creation of the song—MUSIC! Believe it or not, simply listening to the hottest, recently released Hip Hop singles is what inspired the random release of this song. More specifically, it was like…I’m online fooling around on YouTube one day and I'm made aware of T.I.'s joint, "Money Talk", and I'm like..."alright...it's TIP". Then, another day I'm on YouTube again and I’m made aware of Fat Joe’s joint, “All The Way Up” and I’m like… “okay, New York’s back”. A little while later, I just happen to have Atlanta’s 107.9 on the radio while riding in my vehicle and I hear Plies’ “Ran off on the Plug Twice” (although I call it Ritz Carlton—which also has a video that was very inspiring to me, by the way), and I’m like “Oh shit! It’s Plies!” Finally, on a sunny afternoon, I’m playing around on YouTube again and Jigga’s on the remix of Fat Joe’s “All The Way Up”, and at this point, I just can’t take it anymore. Subconsciously, I’m like, “I’ve been trying to be patient and get all my ducks in a row, but shit… ‘I’ll get in that LAB’ on these niggaz” …and the rest was history. I pulled out my little raggedy ass MASCHINE, threw the beat together and start writing.

As I write this, I’m listening to LABrat, remembering my writing process—it was so intuitive, instinctual and passionate! More than that…writing LABrat was kind of fun! Even though my demeanor was SO serious while writing the song, I say it was fun because I really enjoyed writing it. I wrote and recorded the first two verses of the song in just a few hours, and if I remember correctly, I wrote and recorded the third verse the next afternoon. As I try to relive the exact experience, I can remember feeling like an actual scientist in a laboratory, trying to come up with a cure for cancer or something—facts. I never knew I could be so damn serious about writing a rap—it’s “Brazy” (one time for the homie YG)!

But yeah…from the lyrics to the beat, LABrat represents the essence of raw Hip Hop music. It’s totally unique compared to other Hip Hop singles out right now, and what’s more…it makes a bold statement. LABrat exemplifies the art. LABrat blatantly challenges other players in the league to come with it because ChristianMcCoy is definitely in the building, while not even in the building at all. LABrat is undoubtedly a song for your playlist IF you are a true LISTENER and connoisseur of RAW HIP HOP MUSIC. However, if you are not of that particular class of individuals, LABrat is not the song for you. Nevertheless, I encourage even you to GET FAMILIAR! Click the above link or visit www.theConstellationEntertainment.com, and download your copy today…it’s only one dollar…and I’m starving! P.E.A.C.E.

#CheckThePerspective

So yeah...I could never lock myself into a religion such as Christianity...sometimes it just seems like it breeds hypocrisy. Jesus enumerated, pretty much, a requirement of forgiveness, in which children of HIS Father should ALWAYS forgive! I know it can be very difficult to forgive some people for some things. However, I also know that a lot of people condemning Bill Cosby, and damn near writing him off, are Christians. You're telling me you can't forgive an, overall, good man like Bill Cosby? Gimme a fuckin' break! You people ain't no more like Christ than the Devil himself!

I Had to Break Free

How do I redeem myself? Where's the redeemer at?
If God loved the world so much, he'd give us Jesus back!

Can freedom only be obtained through death?
I thought there was power in the name, how loud do I have to yell?

I'm in hell already, under a spell of the devil like I'm "dead in the Chevy";
like they be sayin' in the streets...

but I'm at peace when I got my piece;
'bout to hit this lick, I'mma be so free!

I'mma be the MAN, they gon' be like damn;
"The Lord is surely blessin' you, B".

I'mma be like, yep, straight up, I had to get my weight up quick;
now I gotta slow down, sit and repent, cause for real?

...the Lord ain't had nothin' to do with this!
