About LABrat…
So
yeah…on June 17th I released a new single called “LABrat”, which is
a song I’m pretty proud of. My excitement for LABrat is primarily associated
with what inspired the creation of the song—MUSIC! Believe it or not, simply
listening to the hottest, recently released Hip Hop singles is what inspired
the random release of this song. More specifically, it was like…I’m online
fooling around on YouTube one day and I'm made aware of T.I.'s joint,
"Money Talk", and I'm like..."alright...it's TIP". Then, another
day I'm on YouTube again and I’m made aware of Fat Joe’s joint, “All The Way Up”
and I’m like… “okay, New York’s back”. A little while later, I just happen to
have Atlanta’s 107.9 on the radio while riding in my vehicle and I hear Plies’ “Ran
off on the Plug Twice” (although I call it Ritz
Carlton—which also has a video that was very inspiring to me, by the way),
and I’m like “Oh shit! It’s Plies!” Finally, on a sunny afternoon, I’m playing
around on YouTube again and Jigga’s on the remix of Fat Joe’s “All The Way Up”,
and at this point, I just can’t take it anymore. Subconsciously, I’m like, “I’ve
been trying to be patient and get all my ducks in a row, but shit… ‘I’ll get in
that LAB’ on these niggaz” …and the rest was history. I pulled out my little
raggedy ass MASCHINE, threw the beat together and start writing.
As
I write this, I’m listening to
LABrat, remembering my writing process—it was so intuitive, instinctual and
passionate! More than that…writing LABrat was kind of fun! Even though my
demeanor was SO serious while writing the song, I say it was fun because I really enjoyed writing it.
I wrote and recorded the first two verses of the song in just a few hours, and
if I remember correctly, I wrote and recorded the third verse the next
afternoon. As I try to relive the exact experience, I can remember feeling like
an actual scientist in a laboratory, trying to come up with a cure for cancer
or something—facts. I never knew I could be so damn serious about writing a rap—it’s “Brazy” (one time for the homie
YG)!
But
yeah…from the lyrics to the beat, LABrat represents the essence of raw Hip Hop
music. It’s totally unique compared to other Hip Hop singles out right now, and
what’s more…it makes a bold statement. LABrat exemplifies the art. LABrat
blatantly challenges other players in the league to come with it because
ChristianMcCoy is definitely in the building, while not even in the building at
all. LABrat is undoubtedly a song for your playlist IF you are a true LISTENER
and connoisseur of RAW HIP HOP MUSIC. However, if you are not of that
particular class of individuals, LABrat is not the song for you. Nevertheless,
I encourage even you to GET FAMILIAR! Click the above link or visit www.theConstellationEntertainment.com,
and download your copy today…it’s only one dollar…and I’m starving! P.E.A.C.E.
